[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 21st that it was selected as an excellent institution for six consecutive years in the 2022 Local Government Government Innovation Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Local Government Government Innovation Evaluation is a system that evaluates 12 indicators in three categories: autonomous innovation, innovation performance, innovation diffusion, and public perception, targeting 243 local governments nationwide (17 metropolitan, 226 basic).
For a fair and objective evaluation, the judging panel included the 'Local Government Innovation Evaluation Group' composed of private experts and the 'Public Evaluation Group' recruited from the general public.
As a result of the evaluation, Seo-gu received excellent grades in most evaluation indicators, and was especially recognized for implementing innovative administration by operating village government regional base neighborhoods to activate resident participation and running a collaboration specialist system to promote collaborative administration within the organization.
In addition, through ‘Baro Munja Harangkke!’ which provides highly satisfactory administrative services, immediate resolution of daily life complaints was achieved, and chronic complaints neglected for years were resolved through collaboration, earning high praise for the institution’s efforts to communicate with residents.
In this evaluation, Seo-gu ranked 9th among autonomous districts nationwide, rising two places compared to the previous year, and was selected as an excellent institution for six consecutive years, planning to receive government awards and financial incentives.
