[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Carelabs is showing strong performance. The news that Goodoc, the No.1 healthcare platform in Korea, has launched the country's first 'Health AI Chatbot' service by adopting the ChatGPT API (Application Programming Interface) seems to be influencing the stock price. As of the end of Q3 last year, Carelabs holds an 83.3% stake in Goodoc.
At 11:39 AM on the 21st, Carelabs was trading at 8,910 KRW, up 6.83% from the previous day.
The service is available through the 'Health AI' feature within the Goodoc app. The AI provides answers to users' questions related to health and procedures within one second. The company explained that since AI responses are immediate, anyone regardless of age or gender can use it easily and quickly.
Goodoc expects the service launch to further strengthen the linkage to medical consultations. They have established a foundation to quickly provide direct and indirect solutions to user inquiries using AI. If the AI response is insufficient, depending on the question, solutions connecting to face-to-face consultations such as ▲non-face-to-face medical treatment ▲Clinic Market ▲hospital reservations are provided, offering multifaceted and in-depth solutions to users' health issues.
Jinseok Lim, CEO of Goodoc, said, "Since the service can be easily accessed through the existing Goodoc app and provides immediate answers to questions, we expect non-face-to-face AI to contribute to the universality and familiarity of medical services." He added, "Goodoc, which succeeded in integrating the latest AI technology into a medical platform for the first time in Korea, will continue to actively adopt various latest technologies to provide innovative services."
Recently, the Ministry of Science and ICT announced the promotion of the 'AI-based Medical System Digital Transformation Support Project' to improve the quality of public medical services and resolve regional medical disparities through AI.
Samsung Electronics will launch new 2023 TV models such as OLED and Neo QLED 8K on the 9th of next month. Samsung Electronics applied enhanced AI technology to this year's TV models to provide the best picture quality and maximize connectivity experiences with various devices. The new products are equipped with a one-chip module supporting not only SmartThings but also Matter devices, allowing connection with various IoT devices without using a separate dongle. They support 'Live Chat' to communicate with viewers watching the same content, video calls via 'Connectime,' and include the 'Goodoc' application for remote medical services, enabling users to experience non-face-to-face medical consultations on a large screen at home.
Researcher Jaemu Kim from ResearchAlum said, "Since the largest shareholder changed to Wonik Holdings on January 17 last year, expectations have been rising," and analyzed, "Compared to competitors' corporate values, it is undervalued."
Researcher Kim diagnosed, "Goodoc's corporate value was evaluated at 70 billion KRW during the Series A investment in May 2022. Currently, the company's corporate value is lower than 168.5 billion KRW, which is the sum of the average corporate value of non-face-to-face medical platforms at 130 billion KRW and beauty platforms at 48.5 billion KRW, indicating it is undervalued." He presented a 'positive' stock price outlook for Carelabs along with a target price of 15,240 KRW.
