[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is implementing an electric vehicle distribution project to create a pleasant air environment through greenhouse gas reduction and carbon neutrality realization.
The county plans to first invest a budget of 1.8 billion KRW in the first phase to support about 118 electric vehicles.
The support targets are individuals, corporations/companies, public institutions, and local public enterprises (excluding central administrative agencies) registered in Cheongsong-gun. Subsidies are available only for vehicles announced by the Ministry of Environment, with up to 12.8 million KRW for electric passenger cars, 18 million KRW for electric cargo vehicles, and 84 million KRW for electric vans.
Applications for purchasing electric vehicles are made by the buyer contracting through a car dealer, who then applies online on behalf of the buyer. Applications will be accepted from February 20, and vehicles will be selected in the order of delivery registration possible for contracted vehicles.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, “Since practicing carbon neutrality is a globally important task, Cheongsong-gun will actively support the distribution of electric vehicles to do our best to maintain the clean air of ‘Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong-gun.’”
