[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is launching the 'On-site Worker Rest Facility Improvement Support Project.' This measure is designed to help workers relieve fatigue accumulated during work by providing comfortable rest facilities.
The support targets social welfare facilities in Seongnam, nursing hospitals with fewer than 100 employees, and small and medium-sized manufacturing companies with fewer than 200 workers.
If these companies or institutions renovate old rest facility structures, ventilation, exhaust systems, shower facilities, or replace heating, cooling, and ventilation systems with new ones, they can receive up to 20 million KRW in support.
Among small and medium-sized manufacturers, the textile (dyeing) industry and rest facilities jointly used by three or more companies (institutions) are given priority support. However, 10-20% of the total project cost must be self-funded.
Companies or institutions wishing to apply should submit an application form, project plan, business registration certificate, and financial statements by the 3rd of next month.
A city official stated, "A work environment that guarantees the right to rest improves work efficiency and corporate productivity, and furthermore positively impacts the revitalization of the local economy," adding, "We will apply the 'thick and meticulous customized welfare' policy of the 8th elected administration to the labor field as well."
