According to the county on the 21st, residents expressed opinions that "the operation of the Ssireum team is going well" in two surveys, with 51.5% and 52.1%, respectively.

The county explained that this "does not mean it should be disbanded soon, but rather that it should be operated more effectively in the future."

Yeongam-gun plans to operate the Ssireum team with the residents by strengthening public interest and publicness through cleaner and more transparent team management in the future.

In addition, the future operation directions of the Ssireum team include clean and transparent management of the Yeongam-gun Folk Ssireum Team, securing national and provincial funds for efficient operation, revitalizing the local economy and promoting Yeongam-gun through sports marketing, fostering the best Ssireum team and protecting players, and operating the team in cooperation with the local community.

County Governor Woo Seung-hee said, "As we accept the recommendations of the Public Deliberation Committee and restart as a Ssireum team recognized by the residents, we will thoroughly establish detailed plans for efficient operation methods and make a leap forward as a team that not only achieves good results but also makes all residents proud."

Earlier, in July last year, newly inaugurated County Governor Woo Seung-hee decided to go through a public deliberation process to stop further disputes over the ongoing controversy surrounding the operation of the Ssireum team in the region.

Subsequently, a seven-member Public Deliberation Committee was formed, and a final recommendation was confirmed through resident surveys, resident participation group deliberation workshops, and discussion sessions.
