[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] Woomi Hope Foundation announced on the 20th that it has awarded a total of 345 million KRW in scholarships to 175 descendants of national merit recipients.

On the same day, Woomi Hope Foundation held the '2022 National Merit Descendants Scholarship Award Ceremony' at the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation in Jung-gu, Seoul. Through this ceremony, scholarships of 1 million KRW each for middle and high school students and 3 million KRW each for university students were provided.
For the past 18 years, Woomi Hope Foundation has been promoting scholarship support for the descendants of national merit recipients who have devoted and sacrificed for the country, honoring and remembering their noble spirit. To date, approximately 1,600 individuals have received a total of 1.8 billion KRW in scholarships.
Additionally, Woomi Hope Foundation will sign a business agreement for the 'Heroes Family Program' to support descendants of national merit recipients together with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. They plan to continue providing education as well as psychological and emotional support programs for them.
A representative of Woomi Hope Foundation stated, “The foundation expresses deep respect and gratitude to the national merit recipients who have devoted themselves to the peace and well-being of the country and its people,” adding, “We will continue to steadily support the descendants of our nation’s heroes for their patriotic service.”
