[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] On the 20th, Samyook University announced that it awarded honorary doctoral degrees to Kim Myung-ho, Senior Pastor of the Adventist Church, and Jung Yong-bok, CEO of Zion Metal, at the '2022 Academic Year Spring Degree Conferment Ceremony' held on the 17th at the university's 70th Anniversary Mission Hall.
Pastor Kim, who received an honorary Doctor of Theology degree, graduated from Samyook University's Department of Theology in 1968 and served as a professor in the same department from 1973. In 1980, he moved to the United States and founded a church at the Calin Church in Texas. After pastoring in LA and retiring in 2014, he continued to lead Bible sermons and revival meetings. Additionally, he contributed to theological development through various writings such as "Stories of Love" and "The Gospel of Romans as I Realized."
CEO Jung, who received an honorary Doctor of Science degree, began donating large scholarship and development funds to Samyook University in 2007, contributing several hundred million won. Furthermore, he was appointed as a promotional ambassador for Samyook University in March 2021 and actively promoted the university mainly among his company's clients. He also contributes to society in various ways, including participating in the expansion project of the "Samyook University Supporters' House."
