Changwon Special City, Awards Ceremony for 'Outstanding Departments in Department Evaluation'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam awarded commendations for the ‘2022 Department Evaluation Outstanding Departments’ on the 20th.


The city conducted a comprehensive evaluation of each department based on detailed items such as major municipal administration tasks carried out throughout 2022, institutional commendations, and performance indicator achievements, selecting 24 departments as outstanding departments.

Dividing all 198 departments into four groups: headquarters, direct affiliates/business offices, district offices, and eup/myeon/dong, the top departments selected by group were as follows: Grand Prize ▲Welfare, Women and Health Bureau Social Welfare Division ▲Agricultural Technology Center Agricultural Products Distribution Division ▲Masan Hoewon-gu Environmental Sanitation Division ▲Seongsan-gu Sapa-dong; Excellence Award ▲Tourism Division ▲Forest Recreation Division ▲Masan Hoewon-gu Administration Division ▲Masan Happo-gu Odong-dong; Encouragement Award Legal Affairs Officer and seven other departments; Effort Award Strategic Industry Division and seven other departments.


Despite difficult conditions such as the economic downturn last year, the city secured a national treasury budget of 1.6102 trillion KRW and received 38 external institutional commendations, demonstrating administrative capabilities both internally and externally.


The 2022 performance management evaluation results will be reflected in the 2023 Changwon City public officials’ performance-based salary determination and other areas.


Jo Myung-rae, the 2nd Deputy Mayor, stated, “This year as well, we will do our best to develop evaluation indicators that citizens can feel in connection with the city administration direction, such as improving citizens’ perception of municipal administration, and to enhance the efficiency of city administration through fair evaluations.”
