Price Determination for a Total of 139 Items
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jongseon] Jeonnam Gokseong-gun (Governor Lee Sangcheol) announced that on the 17th, it held the 2023 School Meal Eco-friendly Ingredients Supply Price Determination Council to decide the prices of school meal ingredients.
The School Meal Eco-friendly Ingredients Supply Price Determination Council is held bimonthly based on the Gokseong-gun Ordinance on School Meal Support and business guidelines, and through the meetings, it determines the prices of various eco-friendly agricultural products and Non-GMO ingredients to be supplied for school meals.

On this day, nine participants attended the council, including county officials, representatives from the Education Support Office, childcare facility representatives, school nutrition teachers, suppliers, and producer group representatives. The participants reviewed a total of 126 items, including eco-friendly rice to be supplied for school meals from March to April.
The reviewed items' prices were determined by reflecting market prices from comparative surveys, prices from other cities and counties, and prices proposed by suppliers.
Additionally, supply prices for 13 items across 11 types of Non-GMO (foods not using genetically modified agricultural products) ingredients were also decided and will be supplied at the same price throughout the year.
A county official stated, “We will continuously strive to provide high-quality eco-friendly ingredients for healthy meals for students. We plan to contribute to promoting agricultural product consumption by expanding items through contract farming with local eco-friendly agricultural producers.”
Gokseong-gun selected Okgwa Nonghyup as the supplier of eco-friendly ingredients for school meals following the review by the Gokseong-gun School Free Meal Support Deliberation Committee on the 15th.
