[Asia Economy Reporter Boo Aeri] On the 20th, Lee Bok-hyun, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), met with Mahendra Siregar, Head of the Indonesia Financial Services Authority, to discuss ways to expand cooperation.


Governor Lee conveyed to Head Siregar the strong interest of domestic financial companies in Indonesia's growth potential and expressed the FSS's willingness for active mutual cooperation regarding the supervision of financial companies operating in Indonesia.


In response, Head Siregar stated that he would support domestic financial companies through close communication with the FSS concerning licensing and supervision.


The two institutions plan to sign a mutual secondment agreement within the first half of this year to strengthen supervisory capabilities and cooperation, with implementation scheduled for the second half.


Gandi Sulistiyanto, Indonesian Ambassador to Korea, also participated in the meeting and expressed his intention to serve as a communication channel.


On the same day, the FSS held the 'Korea-Indonesia 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Commemorative Financial Cooperation Joint Business Forum.' CEOs of domestic financial companies, including KB Kookmin Bank, Hana Bank, Shinhan Bank, and Woori Bank, attended the event.


Leveraging the high-level meeting and business forum, the FSS plans to activate cooperation and exchange with Indonesia to support domestic financial companies' entry into and business activities in Indonesia.
