Comprehensive Childcare Support Center, Elementary After-School Care, Indoor Playground, and More

Creating a Multifunctional Care Space for Children

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam Province is set to fully launch the ‘Daga-chi Care Center Construction’ project, which provides services such as infant care support and elementary school student care.

The ‘Daga-chi Care Center,’ to be built in the Asan-ri area of Namhae-eup, is a campaign pledge of the 8th local government term and a project funded by the Local Extinction Response Fund, with a total investment of 8.35 billion KRW (850 million KRW from the county budget, 7.5 billion KRW from the fund).

The ‘Daga-chi Care Center’ is a comprehensive and systematic care complex space that can perform care functions for elementary children and infants. It is expected to resolve the shortage of play and care facilities for infants and elementary children in the region, as well as improve the inconvenience caused by the dispersion of these facilities.

Namhae-gun 'Daga Chi Kiwoom Center' Construction Officially Begins Namhae-gun Office, Gyeongnam.

The facility will be a three-story building above ground (site area 950㎡), equipped with an indoor playground, hourly childcare room, care center, experience (cooking) activity room, toy library, and multipurpose room, enabling integrated care services.

Namhae-gun has commissioned a basic plan establishment service to build a center suitable for the county’s circumstances and to eliminate care blind spots. It plans to actively reflect residents’ opinions, including integrated support for local daycare centers and child meals during school vacations. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024 and completion is targeted for 2025.

County Governor Jang Chung-nam said, “Once the Daga-chi Care Center is built, it will become a care complex facility capable of providing comprehensive and systematic care functions for elementary children and infants,” adding, “Since this project is promoted as part of the Local Extinction Response Fund, we will do our best to raise Namhae’s status as a child-friendly place and contribute to population growth.”
