Mackis Company Launches 'Seonyang', Korea's Lowest Alcohol Content and Calorie Soju

McKiss Company announced on the 20th that it will launch 'Seonyang (鮮洋)', the lowest alcohol content and lowest calorie soju in Korea, on the 2nd of next month, based on 50 years of expertise in soju manufacturing.

The new product Seonyang features a reduced alcohol content of 14.9%, the lowest in Korea, emphasizing smoothness while maintaining the clean taste, the essential value of soju, by using oxygen aging method and adding distilled rice and barley extracts. It is a 'zero sugar' product without fructose, achieving the lowest calorie count in the soju industry at 298 kcal (360mL), allowing consumers to enjoy it without burden.

McKiss Company rebranded the product name using its former company name, Seonyang, to emphasize brand authenticity. Focusing on differentiation from existing products, it incorporated stylish design elements in line with consumer trends. Seonyang is visually represented with a shorter and rounder package compared to traditional soju bottles. Notably, it is the only soju in the current market to apply a 'crown cap', offering the special enjoyment of drinking soju by opening the cap.

Seonyang is scheduled to make its debut at a pop-up store on the 5th floor of Daejeon Shinsegae Department Store Art & Science branch on the 2nd of next month.

A McKiss Company representative said, "We launched Seonyang to maintain the essential value of soju while completely changing everything else to present a new paradigm in the soju market," adding, "We lowered the alcohol content and enhanced the cleanliness so that people can enjoy good times with good people more comfortably and for longer."
