[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] LG Electronics will showcase the 2023 model 'LG OLED Evo' at the global art fair 'Frieze LA.' LG OLED Evo Presents NFT Fragmented Artwork at Frieze LA
LG Electronics announced on the 19th that starting from the 16th (local time), it will present artist Barry X Ball's NFT (Non-Fungible Token) artwork through the 2023 OLED Evo (model names: 97G3, 83C3) at Frieze LA held in Los Angeles, USA.
Barry X Ball realized the face of Pope John Paul II as an NFT fragmented artwork through the overwhelming picture quality of the LG OLED Evo. The LG OLED Evo finely expressed the textures of materials such as gold, silver, and copper that Barry X Ball pursued. The artist said, "Historic artworks were born when the best technology and artistic inspiration of the time combined," and added, "LG OLED TV realized the best image that satisfies me."

This artwork can also be seen on 'LG Art Lab,' which LG Electronics launched in the U.S. market. LG Art Lab is an NFT art trading platform that won an Innovation Award at CES 2023. It has been included in LG smart TVs, PCs, and smartphones released since 2020. It features support for viewing and trading NFT artworks carefully selected by art experts.
LG Electronics plans to continue art projects showcasing artworks in collaboration with world-renowned artists through OLED. This will solidify its premium brand leadership. The goal is also to provide art enthusiasts with a F.U.N experience that is ▲First ▲Unique ▲New in the world.
2023 Models to be Sequentially Released Next Month
LG Electronics will sequentially release the 2023 LG OLED TVs, including the new LG OLED Evo models showcased at this exhibition, in global markets starting next month.
The 2023 LG OLED Evo applies refined proprietary video processing and light control technologies based on the 10th anniversary innovations. The 65-inch OLED Evo (model name: 65G3) is up to about 70% brighter than conventional OLED TVs of the same size. It also reduces light reflection and screen see-through phenomena compared to previous models in the same class.
The 6th generation Alpha 9 processor applied to the LG OLED Evo analyzes the video creator’s intent to control screen noise. It also recognizes faces, objects, text, and backgrounds in scenes to enable more natural expression. The Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro subdivides each scene to finely adjust HDR effects and brightness by zones.
Oh Hyewon, Executive Director of HE Brand Communication at LG Electronics, said, "We will continue to provide customized customer experiences for art lovers with the overwhelming picture quality of LG OLED TVs and the advanced smart TV platform."
