Shinsegae Department Store is expected to have its first labor union in over 60 years since its founding.

On the 17th, according to Shinsegae Department Store, an employee leading the establishment of the union sent a membership invitation email to all employees.

According to the notice, all employees working at the department store, excluding executives, are eligible to join, and the union activities include wage negotiations, personnel system improvements, and working condition enhancements.

The employee leading the union establishment is known to be at the partner level. The partner level generally refers to assistant manager or manager positions with less than 12 years of service.

Shinsegae Department Store stated, "We will establish a healthy labor-management culture through smooth dialogue and consultation."
