100,000 KRW per household
600,000 KRW per low-income household
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, is promoting the ‘2023 Household Low-NOx Boiler Installation Support Project’ to replace general household boilers with eco-friendly low-NOx boilers.
This project is being promoted to reduce air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are the cause of fine dust generated during boiler combustion.
A ‘household low-NOx boiler’ is a product certified by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute’s environmental label with an hourly evaporation capacity of less than 0.1 tons or a heat output of less than 61,900 kcal.
It is an eco-friendly boiler that absorbs and recycles the high-temperature heat emitted as exhaust gas, has 12% higher energy efficiency than general boilers, and reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by more than 80%.
Ulju-gun will provide first-round support for a total of 1,980 units from the 20th of this month to the 20th of next month, and plans to promote a second-round support project if additional funding is secured.
The support targets are building owners who replace old household general boilers with household low-NOx boilers this year and tenants authorized by the owners.
A subsidy of 100,000 KRW per boiler is provided for general households, and 600,000 KRW for low-income households.
Since low-NOx boilers generate condensate and installation is restricted in places where condensate piping cannot be installed, it is essential to inquire in advance with the boiler manufacturer (supplier) about the possibility of installation.
Applications can be made both online and offline, and photos proving the new installation of the low-NOx boiler this year and photos of the boiler to be replaced must be submitted.
Detailed information such as application forms and required documents can be found in the announcement on the Ulju-gun Office website, and inquiries can be made to the Environmental Resources Division of Ulju-gun Office.
