About an hour's drive from downtown Seoul, passing the Sihwa Embankment, you arrive at Daebudo, which boasts a pristine natural environment. Daebudo, known as the treasure island of the West Sea, is home to the lake of life, Sihwa Lake, Daesong Wetlands, the sunset views of Gubongdo, and the sedimentary rock layers of Daebu Mine, making it one of the nation's top ecological tourism resources.
Daebu Haesol-gil, naturally developed in Ansan City's Daebudo, consists of 10 courses totaling 91 km. It is a walking trail that circles Daebudo along the coastline, offering romantic coastal and natural scenery. It is especially popular as a trekking course where visitors can fully enjoy Daebudo's beautiful coastlines, dense forests, and outstanding tourist attractions. Visitors can appreciate diverse landscapes such as pine forest paths, salt farm trails, sunset paths, seaside trails, mudflat paths, vineyard paths, and countryside roads. The West Sea mudflats and migratory birds can also be seen, and it is perfect for mudflat experiences in summer.
Course 1, stretching 11.3 km from Bangameori to Donjisomeangil, is the highlight of Daebu Haesol-gil and the most visited by tourists. It features a magnificent pine forest surrounding the vast West Sea mudflats like a folding screen. Among these, the Gubongdo Sunset Observatory, connected by the Ant Waist Bridge over the sea path, offers stunning views of the West Sea sunset and is very popular among photographers. It is also highly regarded as a walkway to cross the sea path. The sunset over the West Sea and islands at dusk provides an indescribable emotional experience.
After completing Course 1 from Gubong (Cheonyeongmul) Mineral Spring to Jonghyeon Fishing Village Experience, visitors can immediately return by private vehicle. It is highly recommended to visit the Gubongdo Sunset Observatory at sunset. The course is Daebudo Tourist Information Center → Bukmangsan → Gubong Mineral Spring → Ant Waist → Sunset Observatory → Gubong Seondol → Jonghyeon Fishing Village Experience → Donjisomeangil.
Course 6, famous for the sunset at Tando Port, is another representative course of Daebu Haesol-gil not to be missed. While enjoying the scenery of the West Sea mudflats, one of the world's top five mudflats, and the sea path of Nue Island, you reach Tando Port, nationally renowned as a West Sea sunset spot. The beautiful view of the sun hanging over the Nue Island lighthouse observatory across Tando Port is perfect for capturing memorable photos. The course is Daebudo Pension Town → Gyeonggi Creative Center → Gyeonggi Youth Training Center → Buldo Embankment → Gyeonggi Youth Training Center → Tando Port.
Additionally, Course 2 offers the most comfortable walk, blending coastal mudflats and the fragrance of azaleas along the trail. Course 3 allows you to enjoy the splendid views of Island Resort, Seonjaedo, and Yeongheungdo. Course 4 boasts the best coastal scenery, and Course 5 features Dongju Salt Farm and beautiful reed forests, one of Ansan's nine scenic spots. Each course offers unique charms for trekking. This spring, we recommend trying a healing trek in Daebudo, filled with sights and activities to enjoy with your loved ones and family. Provided by Ansan City Hall
