Emergency Transport of a Woman in Her 70s with Hip Injury on Chuja Island, Jeju

According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 17th, around 11 a.m. that day, a report was received from the Chuja Island Health Center in Jeju City that a woman in her 70s complaining of hip joint pain due to a fall was suspected of having a right hip joint injury and needed to be transported to a higher-level emergency medical institution in Jeju City.

The Jeju Coast Guard dispatched a 500-ton patrol vessel patrolling the nearby waters, received the emergency patient A from the Chuja Police Substation coastal rescue boat around 12:10 p.m., and urgently transported her to Jeju Port, arriving at Jeju Port around 1:40 p.m., where she was safely handed over to the waiting 119 ambulance team.

A Jeju Coast Guard official said, “This year, we have transported a total of seven emergency patients (three from Chuja) using patrol vessels, etc. We will do our best to protect the lives of the people with an emergency response system in place for emergency patients in island areas.”
