SK Hynix to Host Global Semiconductor Conference 'IEEE EDTM'

Held at Seoul COEX from March 7 to 10

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] SK Hynix announced on the 17th that it will co-host the global academic conference 'IEEE EDTM 2023' with the Nano Technology Research Council at COEX, Seoul, from the 7th to the 10th of next month.

IEEE EDTM is an international academic conference presented by IEEE EDS (Electron Devices Society), an international organization and society in the fields of electrical, electronic, and computer engineering. Its purpose is to discuss directions for semiconductor manufacturing technology and equipment innovation, as well as device performance improvement. It started in Japan in 2017 and has been held in Singapore, Malaysia, and other locations, with this year marking the seventh event.

This year’s main conference programs include ▲ semiconductor manufacturing technology ▲ quantum computing ▲ packaging technology ▲ advancements in manufacturing and processing technology ▲ CMOS image sensor technology ▲ power and energy devices. Educational programs on related topics will be held on the days of the conference. Conferences on semiconductor-related technologies, future technologies, and artificial intelligence (AI) will also take place.

SK Hynix stated that hundreds of operating committee members and speakers, including semiconductor industry experts and scholars from domestic and international semiconductor companies, will participate in this conference. Cha Seonyong, Vice President in charge of SK Hynix’s Future Technology Research Institute, will deliver a keynote speech titled ‘The Journey of Memory Innovation in the AI Computing Era.’

This year’s conference chair, Song Changrok, Vice President in charge of SK Hynix CIS Development, said, "We expect active discussions on the development direction of the semiconductor industry, which is a growth engine of the global economy, and sustainable growth plans through collaboration," adding, "We plan to provide a meaningful platform for industry, academia, and research exchange.”
