IT specialized media reported that there are rumors that GPT-4 has already passed the Turing test. The Turing test is a test to determine how naturally a computer can communicate with humans. Passing it is expected to enable conversations with AI as seen in movies. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, commented that "there is no need to place great significance on the Turing test."
The era may come when, as in the movie "Iron Man," the protagonist Tony Stark can naturally converse with the AI assistant "Jarvis," or as in the movie "Her," one can fall in love with the AI operating system "Samantha."
Selvas AI is a company specializing in voice artificial intelligence (AI) based on voice recognition and speech synthesis. Its main products include Selvy Note and Selvy Medivoice. Selvy Note is a product that automatically records content during investigations and consultations using AI voice recognition technology. It is applied in about 250 police stations and has recently expanded its application to public institutions requiring investigations and consultations, such as the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
Jaeyoon Han, a researcher at KB Securities, explained, "The domestic AI market is still small, so even if technology is commercialized, it is difficult to achieve significant sales volume. It is also burdensome to commercialize technology recklessly."
He added, "While domestic AI companies rely on service sales, Selvas AI's AI product sales based on separate performance already exceeded solution sales last year." Furthermore, he analyzed, "It is even rare to find a domestic company achieving profitability through AI product sales. This is thanks to Selvas AI's success in commercializing its technology and proving its competitiveness with numbers."
The researcher said, "Chat GPT is the closest to the AI assistant image that the public envisions. Although the public is interested in generative AI technology, painting AI and others have the drawback of not being widely usable." He continued, "Chat GPT is a service that secures both accessibility and usability. It can be accessed via chat on smartphones and fundamentally functions as a search engine, so its usability in daily life is also high."
