‘Pohang-si Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Local Writers Group’ Activities Begin ... Appointment Ceremony and Orientation Held This Year Pohang City held the appointment ceremony and orientation for the '2023 Returning Farmers and Rural Migrants Neighborhood Writers Group' on the 16th.

At the event, the return-to-farming and return-to-village local writers shared information on the current agricultural status, outstanding activities of the local writers, and reporting topics by eup and myeon, and discussed future steps such as revitalizing rural promotion.

The return-to-farming and return-to-village local writers directly report on their respective eup and myeon areas by producing content such as articles, photos, videos, and card news, which are posted on the Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Comprehensive Center website and personal social media to promote the regions nationwide.

Since 2021, one local writer has been recruited for each of the 14 eup and myeon areas, providing information on distinctive local places, events, and people. This has received positive evaluations not only from those wishing to return to farming or villages in Pohang but also from tourists and citizens.

As a result, in the first half of 2022, the local writer of the month, Park Hangyu from Homigot-myeon, was awarded in the regional attractions category of the website’s excellent contest for his work titled “Do You Know About Scenic Agriculture?”

Under the banner of “Agriculture Opening the Future, Rural Areas with Hope,” Pohang’s efforts to expand local agricultural opportunities are reflected through the creation of scenic agricultural complexes and expansive agricultural product sales policies.

Kim Jaesik, Director of the Rural Vitality Division, said, “We hope that the Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Local Writers Group will effectively convey hidden local news, widely promote Pohang’s diverse charms, and breathe new life into the community.”
