Gyeongnam Office of Education Athletes Set Out for 'Medal Hunt' at National Winter Sports Festival

40 Athletes Competing in 5 Events

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Athletes from the Gyeongnam Office of Education will participate in the 104th National Winter Sports Festival, held from the 17th to the 20th.


According to the provincial Office of Education on the 16th, 40 athletes are scheduled to compete in short track, figure skating, skiing, snowboarding, and ice hockey events.

The provincial Office of Education stated that, for the safety of the participating athletes, measures such as ▲enrollment in the Sports Safety Foundation insurance ▲promotion of response guidelines from relevant authorities for COVID-19 infection prevention ▲maintenance of emergency contact networks have been implemented.


They also plan to conduct on-site inspections and encouragement to manage the team operations and safety.


A representative from the provincial Office of Education said, “At the 103rd festival, we won one silver and one bronze medal in alpine skiing, and one bronze each in snowboarding and short track,” adding, “We support the skills honed during training camps and look forward to their success.”
