Applications Open from the 16th, Supporting 190 Vehicles in the First and Second Half of the Year
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it will invest 3.3 billion KRW this year to supply 190 electric vehicles to establish an eco-friendly car usage culture and achieve carbon neutrality.
According to the county, as part of the greenhouse gas reduction efforts to respond to climate change and the 2050 carbon neutrality project, applications for electric vehicle purchase subsidies will be accepted starting from the 16th of this month.
This year, the scale of electric vehicle support is a total of 190 units, including 110 passenger cars and 80 cargo vehicles, with subsidies provided twice, in the first and second half of the year.
The support amount is up to 15.1 million KRW per general electric passenger car and up to 19.5 million KRW per electric cargo vehicle. Additionally, low-income groups and small business owners receive an extra 10-30% of the national subsidy when purchasing electric vehicles.
The eligible recipients are residents aged 18 or older who have had their resident registration address in Goheung-gun for at least three months prior to the application announcement date, as well as corporations, companies, and public institutions with business sites located in Goheung-gun. The purchase support is limited to one vehicle per individual, sole proprietor, corporation, or public institution.
The application period is until the budget is exhausted. Subsidy applications are possible for vehicles that can be delivered within two months from the date of confirmation as an electric vehicle support recipient, and subsidies are paid in the order of vehicle delivery and registration.
Priority recipients include vulnerable groups (persons with disabilities, low-income groups), war veterans and independence activists, small business owners, multi-child families, those who scrap old diesel vehicles and replace them with electric vehicles, and first-time vehicle buyers.
A county official stated, “As the demand for electric vehicles continues to increase, we plan to expand the electric vehicle charging infrastructure accordingly. We ask for the interest and participation of all residents to reduce greenhouse gases and fine dust.”
