[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency has donated funds to Turkey and Syria, which suffered great damage from the earthquake.
The agency announced on the 16th that, together with the newly launched Integrated Labor Union on the 7th, it conducted a voluntary fundraising campaign for the people of the two countries who are suffering greatly from the earthquake, and recently delivered a donation of 10 million won to the Korean Red Cross.
The donated funds will be used for emergency relief such as providing aid supplies to disaster victims and for the restoration of the affected areas.
The agency has been striving to fulfill its social responsibility by raising funds for neighbors affected by floods and donating goods to support people with disabilities.
Kang Seong-cheon, head of the agency, said, "I extend my condolences to many people who are suffering from unprecedented earthquake damage," and added, "I hope that the small sincerity gathered by labor and management will help the residents of Turkey and Syria quickly stabilize their lives."
