Korea-Germany Chamber of Commerce Delivers Letter of Support for 2030 World Expo in Busan

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will hold the ‘2023 Economic Outlook’ event at the Ananti Hilton Hotel on the 16th.


The ‘2023 Economic Outlook’ event is co-hosted by Busan City and the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) and was organized to discuss the development of business relations between Korea and Germany as well as the economic outlook of Korea’s major industries.


At this economic outlook event, the program will proceed in the following order: ▲ an ‘Investment Briefing Session’ introducing Busan City’s investment attraction environment ▲ a presentation on ‘Political Outlook’ by the German Embassy in Korea ▲ a presentation on ‘Economic Status of Korea and Major Industries’ by the German Trade and Investment Promotion Agency ▲ a presentation on the ‘Latest Global Economic Outlook from a Korean Perspective’ by Commerzbank ▲ and a panel discussion.


After the economic outlook event, there will be a session to express support for Busan’s hosting of the ‘2030 World Expo’ by the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Vice Chairman Jeong Hajung and CEO Martin H?ngkelmann of KGCCI will deliver a letter of support personally signed to Mayor Park Hyung-jun.


Following the main event, a New Year’s dinner hosted by the German Embassy in Korea will be held, with about 100 attendees including Michael Reiffenstuhl, the German Ambassador to Korea, and representatives of German companies in Korea.


Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “I hope the ‘2023 Economic Outlook’ event co-hosted by Busan City and the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be a great opportunity to build a strong network between the Korean and German economies,” and expressed gratitude, saying, “The KGCCI’s expression of support for Busan’s hosting of the ‘2030 World Expo’ will be a great encouragement to Busan ahead of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) inspection scheduled for April.” He also added, “I ask for much interest and investment in Busan, which is becoming a world-class city.”
