The Lotte Scholarship Foundation announced on the 16th that it has opened the 'Lotte Scholarship Foundation University Student Shared Dormitory' in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

The shared dormitory is a space remodeled last October by the Lotte Scholarship Foundation in an 8-story building (total floor area 4,026㎡) to support university students struggling with academic difficulties due to housing cost burdens. It has a total of 69 rooms (2 persons per room) accommodating 138 students, and is equipped with various convenience facilities such as a fitness center, reading room, shared kitchen, information search desk, and L-Cafe. It is also conveniently located within a 10-minute walk from Mangwon Station on Line 6, offering excellent transportation accessibility.

The recruitment of resident students was conducted in January by the Korea Student Aid Foundation, which is entrusted with the operation of the shared dormitory by the Lotte Scholarship Foundation, targeting university students in Seoul. All 138 residents were selected considering priorities such as academic performance and income, with a competition rate of about 6 to 1.

Kim Minseung, the representative resident student of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation University Student Shared Dormitory, expressed gratitude to the Lotte Scholarship Foundation, saying, "I am happy to be able to focus on my studies by reducing the burden of housing costs."

The opening ceremony in the afternoon is scheduled to be attended by Cheon Youngwoo, Chairman of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation, Lim Seongbok, Executive Director of the CSV Team at Lotte Holdings, Lee Gyeyeol, Deputy Mayor of Mapo-gu Office, and officials from the Korea Student Aid Foundation.

Meanwhile, the Lotte Scholarship Foundation was established in 1983 with the personal funds of Lotte founder Shin Kyuk-ho, Honorary Chairman, and has continuously carried out scholarship, academic, and educational welfare projects, supporting more than 55,000 students domestically and internationally to date.
