[Kim Haneul's FunFun Golf] Not Showing You're a Golf Beginner

Caddy Bag Head Faces Forward
Hold Ball and Tee in One Hand and Insert

These days, when you go out on the course, you often see "gollini" (golf + children). Today, I will share how to avoid showing that you are a beginner during a round.

[Kim Haneul's FunFun Golf] Not Showing You're a Golf Beginner

When I first went to a golf course with a pro, I made a "ridiculous mistake." After the tee shot, I thought you still had to tee the ball up for the second shot. When I took a tee out of my pocket to place it, the pro asked me, "What are you doing?" At that time, I knew nothing about golf. I thought every shot had to be made with the ball on a tee. Instead of making such a silly mistake, I will share tips to look cool like a player.

First, let's talk about how to carry the caddy bag. You can get a hint by watching how professional caddies carry it. Weekend golfers tend to carry the bag with the club heads facing backward. Since the club heads are heavy, carrying it that way can cause the clubs to fall out. You should always carry the bag with the heads facing forward. Tilt the caddy bag slightly forward with your left hand, then place it on your right shoulder, and you're done.

Gollini are often busy on the teeing ground. They get flustered from the moment they try to tee the ball. Sometimes, they crouch down, unsure how to place the tee, looking restless. They also waste time adjusting the tee height, which looks very amateurish. Players hold the ball and tee together in their right hand. The left hand supports the club. Using the right foot as a brace, you can lightly place the tee with your right hand.

After the tee shot, you usually carry about two clubs to continue play. The clubs you are not using are placed on the field. You can also pick up clubs like a pro after a shot. Instead of bending over to pick them up with your hands, use the head of the club you used to lift the other golf club. This will make you look like an experienced golfer on the course.

Players pay attention to the shape of their hats. If you hold the center of the brim well and roll it, the angle looks nice. If you don’t hold the center, it can look sloppy. Simply bending and wearing the hat brim correctly can make you look less like a beginner.
