CU announced on the 16th that Baek Jong-won's Meat Jjamppong cup ramen surpassed cumulative sales of 1 million units within a month of its launch. This means that more than 30,000 units were sold daily, marking the highest figure among the differentiated ramen currently offered.


Baek Jong-won's Meat Jjamppong features a deep and rich broth made from beef bone extract as its base, along with generous toppings, delivering a quality comparable to that of Chinese restaurant dishes.


Baek Jong-won's Meat Jjamppong ranks second in sales among all cup ramen this month. It accounts for 60% of the differentiated ramen category. It is the first time in 30 years that a product has become a million-seller in such a short period, surpassing long-standing products.


Overall cup ramen sales have also increased significantly. In the approximately one month since the launch of Baek Jong-won's Meat Jjamppong, CU's cup ramen sales rose by 39.4% compared to the same period last year, exceeding last year's cup ramen sales growth rate of 29.3%.


As Baek Jong-won's Meat Jjamppong has successfully established itself in the market, CU plans to strengthen the differentiated ramen lineup with CEO Baek Jong-won to expand customers' choices.


A BGF Retail official said, "Baek Jong-won's Meat Jjamppong is an unusually purpose-driven product for ramen, with customers consistently purchasing it through the membership app PocketCU's reservation purchase feature," adding, "CU will continue to introduce various products that can serve as excellent alternatives for a good meal based on product competitiveness."
