Gyeonggi Human Rights Center, Regular Human Rights Survey of Domestic Violence Counseling Centers

Gyeonggi Human Rights Center, Regular Human Rights Survey of Domestic Violence Counseling Centers Gyeonggi Provincial Government Gwanggyo New Office Building

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Human Rights Center will start conducting regular human rights surveys beginning this year to enhance human rights sensitivity in the public sector, starting with 29 domestic domestic violence counseling centers.

Gyeonggi-do announced on the 16th that from February to April, it will investigate working conditions, workplace harassment, and human rights violation cases at domestic violence counseling centers operating within social welfare facilities such as elderly welfare facilities and disability protection agencies. These institutions receive national or provincial funding.

The survey is conducted in accordance with the 'Ordinance on the Guarantee and Promotion of Human Rights in Gyeonggi-do,' which mandates the Human Rights Center to regularly conduct human rights surveys targeting domestic violence counseling centers, investment and foundation institutions, entrusted agencies, and social welfare facilities.

The survey is carried out by having employees of domestic violence counseling centers complete questionnaires prepared by the Gyeonggi-do Human Rights Center. To ensure confidentiality of the survey contents, responses are individually returned in prepaid registered mail envelopes. Based on the survey results, the Human Rights Center will develop improvement measures and remedies for human rights concerns with expert consultation.

This preventive survey, conducted to preemptively check for potential human rights violations, allows employees to freely write beyond the fixed questionnaire items.

Masunheung, the Human Rights Officer of Gyeonggi-do, stated, "This survey is promoted to prevent human rights violations, raise human rights sensitivity among employees, and provide assistance in case of violations. The Human Rights Center will continue to actively work on preventing human rights violations and providing remedies for those that occur."

Meanwhile, anyone can apply for consultation and remedy at the Gyeonggi-do Human Rights Center regarding human rights violations and discrimination incidents occurring in provincial and affiliated administrative agencies, investment and foundation institutions, entrusted agencies, organizations supported by the province, and various social welfare facilities. Third-party applications are also possible.
