[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] The generals who commanded the highlight event, Soemori Daegi, of the ‘62nd 3·1 Folk Culture Festival’ held in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, are being successively appointed.
On the 14th, Daeji-myeon held the appointment ceremony for the Western General of the 62nd 3·1 Folk Culture Festival at the myeon office meeting room.

The appointment ceremony was grandly held with about 500 attendees including Acting County Governor Jo Hyunhong, Vice Chairman Shin Eunsuk, heads of various institutions and organizations, and myeon residents.
Seobu General was appointed as Seong Bokyung, President of the Saemaeul Association of the myeon, Jungjang (Middle General) as Ha Taeung, Chairman of the Village Leaders Association, and Sojang (Small General) as Lee Yunhyuk, President of the Youth Association.
Before the ceremony, about 70 people including the Boribau Nongak troupe and promotion committee members started early in the morning from the Sojang’s house, then visited the Jungjang’s and Daejang’s houses, conducting events such as putting on general uniforms and Seongju rituals to honor the generals.
At the myeon office plaza, a prayer ritual was held to wish for the safety and accident-free success of the 62nd 3·1 Folk Culture Festival together with the attendees of the appointment ceremony.
General Seong said at Suraksa Temple, “I am pleased and honored to be appointed as the Western General, which can be called the flower of the 62nd 3·1 Folk Culture Festival, but I feel a heavy responsibility,” and added, “I will do my best to make this event a grand festival that promotes harmony and unity among the county residents.”
The 62nd 3·1 Folk Culture Festival will be held over four days from the eve event on the 28th to March 3rd at the Yeongsan-myeon playground area, featuring various events including Important Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 25 Yeongsan Soemori Daegi and No. 26 Yeongsan Juldarigi.
