Namhae-gun Opens Applications for 'Fishermen's Allowance Support Project'

From March 2 to April 14

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, will accept applications for the ‘Nong-eo Farmers' Allowance Support Project,’ which is conducted to enhance the public interest functions of rural farming and fishing villages and to compensate for agricultural and fishery activities, from March 2 to April 14 at the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Centers.

The Nong-eo Farmers' Allowance Support Project is a system that provides an annual payment of 300,000 KRW to farm and fishery business operators who have registered their agricultural and fishery management information and are actively engaged in farming and fishing, and an additional 300,000 KRW annually (totaling 600,000 KRW) to farms registered as joint operators.

Namhae-gun Opens Applications for 'Fishermen's Allowance Support Project' Namhae-gun Office, Gyeongnam.

Eligibility for support requires that the business owner must have had a residence in Namhae-gun from January 1 of the year before the application until the application date and must have been continuously registered as an agricultural and fishery management entity during the same period.

For joint operators, the residence period is the same as that of the business owner, but eligibility is granted if registered as a joint operator by the application date. However, the business owner registered as the management entity must meet the allowance payment conditions.

Even if eligible for the Nong-eo Farmers' Allowance Support Project, participants must take part in village education and community activities; failure to participate will result in full repayment of the allowance.

Selected final recipients will receive the allowance through the Nonghyup Cha-eum Point Card in July, in cooperation with local financial institutions.

Park Dae-man, Director of the Agriculture and Livestock Division, stated, “This Nong-eo Farmers' Allowance Support Project is expected not only to help stabilize the income of farmers and fishermen but also to greatly benefit local small business owners and traditional markets. We ask for your keen interest and urge everyone to apply within the deadline to ensure that actual farmers and fishermen do not miss out on the benefits.”
