The KDI School of Public Policy and Management (Dean Yoo Jong-il, hereinafter KDI School) announced that on the 13th, it donated approximately 6 million KRW through the Embassy of T?rkiye to aid in earthquake recovery and relief for affected neighbors, and delivered relief supplies such as clothes, blankets, and socks through local KDI School alumni.
To support the earthquake recovery in T?rkiye, the KDI School conducted an emergency fundraising campaign from Thursday, February 9 to Monday, February 13, targeting domestic and international alumni, current students, and faculty and staff. Based on a strong network of over 6,700 alumni and students from 141 countries since its establishment in 1997, about 73 alumni participated in this campaign.
Sadik Y?rek, a KDI School alumnus of Turkish nationality and a public official at the Ministry of Urban Development, expressed gratitude, saying, “The thoughtful activities and messages from the KDI School hold great meaning for alumni and families from T?rkiye.” Students who participated in the donation sent warm messages such as, “This is truly a meaningful cause. Please make sure it is delivered well.”
Dean Yoo Jong-il of the KDI School stated, “I express my deepest condolences to all those suffering from the sudden strong earthquake,” and added, “I hope that these relief funds and supplies can provide even a little help to neighbors facing difficulties on site.”
