Wando-gun Senior Officials to Participate in Donation Effort

According to the county on the 14th, Governor Shin donated hometown love donation funds to four sister and friendly cities?Gimje City in Jeonbuk, Miryang City in Gyeongnam, Cheonan City in Chungnam, and Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi-do?that contributed bottled water and participated in the Hometown Love Donation Program to help Wando County, which is experiencing difficulties such as restricted water supply due to prolonged drought.
Previously, Jeong Seong-ju, mayor of Gimje, and Park Il-ho, mayor of Miryang, donated funds to Wando County first to promote cooperation and mutual growth between sister cities, and Governor Shin Woo-cheol joined the donation in response.
Governor Shin said, “I deeply appreciate the understanding of our region’s difficulties and the support with bottled water,” adding, “I hope the Hometown Love Donation Program will be successfully established so that sister and friendly cities can coexist and develop together.”
Meanwhile, senior officials of Wando County also plan to participate in the donation by selecting hopeful regions to express their gratitude to sister and friendly cities through leading by example.
Wando County is currently organizing and operating 39 types of various Hometown Love Donation return gifts, including processed abalone products such as live abalone and abalone jang, seaweed products like gim and miyeok, agricultural products, the Gudeuljang rice paddy experience set from Cheongsan-myeon, and Wando Love gift certificates.
