[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Jo] On the 14th, one day before the 3rd anniversary of the death of the late Officer Yoo Jaeguk, who died in the line of duty while trying to save a citizen's life, Police Commissioner Yoon Hee-geun visited the Hangang Police Unit Headquarters (Mangwon Center) and Ichon Center to encourage the officers' hard work.

Officer Yoo, on February 15, 2020, dived into the Hangang River to search for a person who had jumped in and did not resurface. The Hangang Police Unit, which he last belonged to during his lifetime, handles 3,000 emergency 112 call responses annually and has rescued 384 lives over the past five years.


Commissioner Yoon said to the officers, "I am well aware that you are working under difficult and dangerous conditions," and added, "Please continue to devote yourselves to public safety and security as you have been, and always pay attention to your safety while performing your duties."
