The 'Korean History Knowledge Campaign' is a national history education project that produces Korean history knowledge in easy-to-understand card news format on historically significant days of the Republic of Korea and widely disseminates it on social networking services (SNS).

This campaign involved Jung Sung-hwa, who played An Jung-geun in the musical film Hero, and Bae Jung-nam, who played Jo Do-seon.

This card news detailed the various independence movements of An Jung-geun’s family. It introduced Jo Maria (1862?1927), An Jung-geun’s mother and an executive of the Provisional Government Economic Support Association; An Seong-nyeo (1881?1954), An Jung-geun’s younger sister who delivered key documents and military funds for the independence army; and An Jeong-geun (1884?1949), who served as a member of the Provisional Government’s temporary legislative assembly.

It also covered An Gong-geun (1889?1939), An Jung-geun’s younger brother who contributed to the organization of the Korean Patriotic Organization; An Myeong-geun (1879?1927), An Jung-geun’s cousin who carried out independence activities in China; An Gyeong-geun (1896?1978), who served as an aide to Kim Gu; and An Bong-saeng and An Chun-saeng, nephews of An Jung-geun.

Professor Seo said, "While the activities of An Jung-geun are already well known to the entire nation, the independence movement activities of the An Jung-geun family are not well known, so I wanted to widely introduce them on this occasion."

The card news is also being shared with major Korean and international student communities worldwide, spreading widely among Koreans living abroad and third- and fourth-generation overseas Koreans.

Meanwhile, the film Hero, which depicts An Jung-geun’s Harbin assassination and martyrdom, will hold a Remember screening and GV (talk with the audience) at CGV Yongsan in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, this afternoon. Director Yoon Je-kyun and actors Jung Sung-hwa, Kim Go-eun, Bae Jung-nam, and Park Jin-joo will attend to express their gratitude for surpassing 3.2 million viewers.
