Measures to Improve Inconveniences Related to Transfer Usage

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Park Dongsik, mayor of Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, conducted a "city bus boarding and transfer experience" to personally feel the inconveniences faced by city bus passengers, following his experience as a sanitation worker.

The experience, held on the 13th, was organized to listen to citizens' difficulties and inconveniences regarding the city bus routes, which were completely reorganized for the first time since the city-county integration in 1995, and to seek improvement measures.

On that day, Mayor Park boarded city bus number 230-1 at Sacheon Terminal and traveled to the intersection at the entrance of Switzen Apartment, personally experiencing the inconveniences. He also experienced transfers at the Wolsong Samgeori bus stop in Sanam-myeon and instructed the preparation of improvement plans for inconveniences related to transfer usage.

Park Dong-sik, Mayor of Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, is listening to citizens' difficulties and inconveniences.

In particular, through conversations with city bus passengers, he checked practical improvement points such as operating hours, intervals between buses, and route additions. The city plans to fully reorganize the routes for efficient city bus operation, conducting a pilot operation from the 13th to the 28th, and will officially implement the changes starting March 1.

In this reorganization, city bus numbers are assigned by region and administrative district, making it easy to know which area the bus operates in just by the bus number.

Additionally, to accommodate citizens visiting City Hall, all city buses will pass through City Hall, and a free transfer once within 60 minutes will be implemented, allowing free movement throughout Sacheon City.

Mayor Park said, "I undertook the city bus boarding and transfer experience to directly feel the inconveniences citizens face," adding, "We will do our best to ensure there is no confusion or inconvenience in using the city buses."
