[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP), and Incheon Tourism Organization have joined forces to nurture and support smart MICE startups.
Smart MICE refers to the convergence of the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) industry with related sectors such as accommodation, shopping, and tourism, based on ICT (Information and Communication Technology).
On the 13th, the three organizations signed a mutual business agreement at Incheon Startup Park, attended by Baek Hyun, President of Incheon Tourism Organization, Lee Juho, Director of Incheon TP, and Byun Jooyoung, Deputy Director of Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲discovering and nurturing innovative startups in the smart MICE sector ▲implementing demonstration programs at Incheon Startup Park and Incheon Tourism Organization for early commercialization of startups ▲linking demonstration resources to support global demonstration of startups.
According to the agreement, Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority and Incheon TP will utilize the infrastructure of Incheon Tourism Organization, such as Songdo Convensia, Harbor Park Hotel, and City Tour Bus, to discover startups possessing demand technologies and support their product demonstration and commercialization with project funds.
They plan to actively support startups to grow into unicorn companies by linking with investment support from Incheon Startup Park and global expansion projects.
