Selected as the Best Institution in the Comprehensive Evaluation of Civil Complaint Services Hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission 'Great Achievement'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 13th that it received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation in the 2022 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
This evaluation was conducted on a total of 306 institutions nationwide, including 46 central administrative agencies, 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, 17 metropolitan local governments, and 226 basic local governments.
The evaluation items reflected 19 indicators in five areas: civil complaint administrative strategy and system, civil complaint system operation, Civil Petition Service complaints, grievance complaints, and civil complaint satisfaction. Institutions ranked within the top 10% nationwide in the overall ranking were selected as the best institutions.
Damyang-gun produced foreign language translations of civil complaint forms to provide civil services for socially vulnerable groups and received high scores in the operation of the Grievance Handling Committee and the handling of Civil Petition Service complaints.
In particular, after rising from grade ‘Da’ in 2020 to grade ‘Na’ in 2021, it focused on strengthening vulnerable areas last year and rose to the highest grade ‘Ga,’ gaining recognition for citizen-centered administration.
Institutions selected for the ‘Ga’ grade, which is awarded only to the best institutions, receive commendations along with financial incentives.
Mayor Lee Byeongno said, “We will do our best so that residents can fully empathize with and feel the results of the civil service evaluation,” and added, “We will not be complacent with the best evaluation and will strive together with all public officials to provide improved civil services from the perspective of the residents.”
