[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) organized a forum with external experts to discuss changes in the international situation triggered by the Ukraine crisis and the response directions of institutional investors.
On the afternoon of the 10th, KIC invited Jin-ho Do, a research fellow at the Security Strategy Research Center of the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses, to its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, to deliver a lecture titled "The Illusion That War Will Not Occur: Evaluation and Implications of the Ukraine Crisis." Research Fellow Jin-ho Do is regarded as a top-level Russia expert who previously served as the head of Russia policy at the Ministry of National Defense's Defense Policy Office.
The seminar was attended by investment strategy and alternative investment officers from mutual aid associations, financial public institutions, and securities firms, who engaged in discussions on investment strategies suitable for the changing international situation.
The International Finance Academy is an educational program established by KIC to train overseas investment professionals and contribute to the development of the domestic financial industry. KIC aims to enhance the global investment capabilities of domestic experts based on its overseas investment experience and network.
Since its official launch in April 2022, the International Finance Academy has held seminars on topics such as "Global Sovereign Wealth Fund Asset Allocation Strategies" and "Venture Capital Investment Strategies and Case Studies."
This year, KIC plans to offer lectures on various topics including investment strategies by alternative investment asset classes and ESG through the International Finance Academy, while also expanding the institutions eligible for training.
