[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 13th that it successfully concluded the children's environmental education experience camp, 'GREEN+Village'.
The event was held over two days, on the 3rd and 4th, in collaboration with the social welfare corporation Children and Future Foundation. It took place at 'Community House Masil' located in Jung-gu, Seoul, with a total of approximately 350 lower-grade elementary school students participating.
The camp was organized as part of the children's environmental education campaign 'GREEN+Kids'. Under the theme of 'Various experiential activities to lower the Earth's temperature,' it was designed to encourage children to practice climate actions themselves and to feel a sense of accomplishment from these efforts.

Children participating in 'GREEN+Village' experienced lifestyle carbon-neutral activities that they could practice daily through various programs. At the GREEN+ Green Garden, they made eco-friendly flower pots by recycling coffee grounds. They also created special handkerchiefs carrying the message to use reusable handkerchiefs instead of non-biodegradable wet wipes through the GREEN+ Promise Handkerchief.
At the GREEN+ Market, participants learned about national certification environmental marks such as organic, pesticide-free labels, and the FSC mark. The GREEN+ Smart Separation Program focused on educating children on proper waste separation, making it easy for them to engage in these activities.
Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee launched the Mercedes-Benz GREEN+ social contribution activities in 2021 with sustainability as the theme. Starting with this children's education program, the committee plans to actively continue activities in 2023 that promote carbon neutrality, such as urban forest projects and forest restoration initiatives.
