SK Shielders Provides Home Security Support for Stalking and Dating Violence Victims

Gangbuk-gu and Gangbuk Police Station Sign Business Agreement
Establishing Public-Private Cooperation System

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] SK Shieldus (CEO Park Jin-hyo) announced on the 13th that it has signed an agreement with Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, and the Gangbuk Police Station to provide home security services to victims of stalking and dating violence.

According to the 'Security Network 2023' report published by the Police University Institute of Security Policy, reports classified as Code Zero (the highest emergency level in the reporting response manual), which include crimes such as dating violence and stalking, are steadily increasing. The number of dating violence reports reached 52,767 as of September last year, marking a 27.7% increase compared to the same period the previous year. This year, the number of related reports and arrests is also expected to rise, highlighting the need for effective countermeasures.

With this agreement, SK Shieldus plans to take the lead in preventing stalking and dating violence crimes that may occur within Gangbuk-gu and help residents live with peace of mind. First, SK Shieldus will provide the AI CCTV 'CapsHome' for front doors to Gangbuk-gu residents who have suffered from stalking or dating violence. The AI CCTV attached to the front door is linked with a mobile app, allowing real-time monitoring of the situation at the doorstep. If a stranger other than family members is detected loitering, the movement is sensed in real time, and an alert message is sent to the user. In case of an emergency, the nearest SK Shieldus personnel will promptly dispatch to the scene, reducing concerns about various threats.

The Gangbuk Police Station will select stalking and dating violence victims who need service support and recommend them to Gangbuk-gu. Gangbuk-gu will receive the victims' service applications and provide them to SK Shieldus, managing the project. Going forward, each institution plans to build a continuous safety system through close cooperation. Kim Yong-nam, head of SK Shieldus Seoul East Headquarters, stated, "We will strive to establish proactive security infrastructure and enhance the social safety net to respond to community-based crimes such as stalking and dating violence." He added, "We will continue to actively carry out ESG activities that prevent crime in local communities and create safe residential environments."
