Nongshim Launches 'Baehongdong Jjoljjolmyeon'..."A Spicy Meeting of Baehongdong and Jjolmyeon"

Nongshim announced on the 13th that it will launch 'Baehongdong Jjoljjolmyeon,' the successor product to Baehongdong Bibimmyeon.

Baehongdong Jjoljjolmyeon is a product that replicates the taste of jjolmyeon using the Baehongdong Bibimmyeon sauce. The new product was developed thanks to the popularity of the Baehongdong Bibimmyeon sauce, which is flavored with pear, red chili pepper, and dongchimi (radish water kimchi).

Baehongdong Jjoljjolmyeon features dried noodles that create the unique chewy and springy texture characteristic of jjolmyeon. Since the dried noodles are air-dried rather than fried, their surface is smoother and denser compared to fried noodles, resulting in a springy texture. The sauce is spicier than the original Baehongdong Bibimmyeon to match the jjolmyeon concept. The deliciously refreshing and spicy sauce, combined with the chewy and springy dried noodles and crispy, savory added special fried toppings, perfectly recreates the taste of jjolmyeon from snack bars.

Nongshim plans to continue the Baehongdong craze this year with Baehongdong Jjoljjolmyeon. Last year, Baehongdong Bibimmyeon recorded sales exceeding 25 billion KRW based on shipment price. It also rose to second place in the bibimmyeon market rankings, widening the gap with the third place. This year, Nongshim intends to challenge for the number one spot in the market through new product launches and various marketing activities, including unique collaborations. Nongshim's Baehongdong Jjoljjolmyeon will be available nationwide at retail stores starting from the 27th of this month.

A Nongshim official said, "Baehongdong Bibimmyeon has gained a loyal fan base among consumers who frequently enjoy bibimmyeon, spreading by word of mouth as a bibimmyeon with excellent sauce flavor," adding, "With the new product, we will showcase a different charm of Baehongdong Bibimmyeon to consumers and further expand our presence in the market."
