According to the province on the 12th, 23 fattening pigs raised at the farm died between the 10th and 11th. Samples were collected by livestock quarantine officers from the Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory, and after detailed testing, a positive diagnosis was confirmed around 1 a.m. on the 12th.

The province issued an emergency 48-hour temporary movement ban starting at 1:30 a.m. on the same day for 17 cities and counties excluding Cheorwon. One animal quarantine and control officer was dispatched to the affected farm to carry out urgent culling and burial operations.

Detailed inspections of eight farms within the quarantine zone will be completed today to determine whether horizontal transmission between farms has occurred. Continuous quarantine measures will be maintained through periodic clinical examinations until the movement restrictions are lifted.

A provincial official stated, "Along with containment quarantine management for all pig farms in the province, the public, private, and military sectors will cooperate organically to prevent further spread and strive for early stabilization," and urged, "We ask for cooperation in the African Swine Fever containment quarantine."
