Shin Ji-ae "Victory News from Australia"... '62nd Career Win as a Pro' Shin Ji-ae

On the 12th (local time), Shin Ji-ae added 1-under-par on the final day at the 13th Beach Golf Links (par 72) in Barwon Heads, Victoria, Australia, to achieve a commanding 5-stroke victory (14-under-par 275) at the Australian Tour Big Open (total prize money $250,000). The winner's prize was $45,000 (approximately 57 million KRW). The Big Open is famous for being held on the same golf course as the men's tournament with the same prize money. Players alternated playing on the 36-hole course to determine the male and female champions.

Starting from a two-stroke tie for second place, Shin Ji-ae made five birdies and four bogeys. She struggled to reduce her score, exchanging three birdies and three bogeys over 12 holes, but secured 'stepping stone birdies' on the 13th and 15th holes, distancing herself from her competitors. Although she made a bogey on the 16th hole (par 4), it did not affect her victory.

Shin Ji-ae is a player with a total of 62 professional wins, including 11 wins on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, 28 wins on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour, and 21 wins on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour. She also reached world No. 1 after winning two major British Women's Opens in 2008 and 2012.

Grace Kim (Australia) lowered her score by one stroke to finish tied for second place (9-under-par 280). The previous day's leader, Kasey Porter (Australia), struggled with a 7-over-par round and dropped to a tie for fourth place (8-under-par 281). Oh Su-hyun (Australia) tied for sixth place (7-under-par 282), Yoon Min-ah tied for 15th place (1-over-par 290), and Karrie Webb (Australia) tied for 17th place (2-over-par 291).
