Processing the First Supplementary Budget and Ordinance Proposals of 2023
Election of Lee Dong-gil as Chair and Seo Min-woo as Vice Chair of the Budget and Accounts Special Committee
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Gwangjin District Council (Chairman Chu Yoon-gu) commenced its 259th extraordinary session from the 9th to the 17th, spanning nine days.
This extraordinary session was convened to deliberate on a total of 18 agenda items, including the first supplementary budget proposal for 2023, major work reports for 2023, and ordinance enactments and amendments.
On the first day of the session, the 9th, the opening ceremony and the first plenary meeting were held to start the session. Chairman Chu Yoon-gu, in his opening remarks, urged the executive branch and the council to communicate closely to provide administration that meets the expectations of the residents and truly reflects their wishes. Council members Kim Kang-san, Kim Mi-young, and Jang Gil-cheon presented their opinions for the development of district administration through five-minute free speeches.
First, Councilman Kim Kang-san expressed gratitude to the relevant officials who established and thoroughly prepared safety management measures for the Achasan sunrise event and requested careful attention to elderly public workers and volunteers.
Councilwoman Kim Mi-young urged faithful supervision and management of the agreement for regional development and coexistence related to the redevelopment project of Jayang 1 Redevelopment Promotion Zone. Lastly, Councilman Jang Gil-cheon appealed for support and attention to the earthquake victims in Turkey.
In the afternoon, the Budget and Accounts Special Committee, formed to review the first supplementary budget proposal and changes to the fund operation plan, elected Lee Dong-gil as chair and Seo Min-woo as vice chair.
On the 10th, each standing committee reviewed ordinance proposals and other agenda items under their jurisdiction. On the 13th and 14th, joint meetings will be held over two days to receive reports on major district administration tasks for this year. At 10 a.m. on the 15th, the second plenary meeting will be convened to hear questions about district administration, followed by the Budget and Accounts Special Committee reviewing the first supplementary budget proposal and others over two days from 2 p.m. on the same day until the 16th. On the final day, the 17th, the third plenary meeting will be held to listen to answers to district administration questions, approve the submitted agenda items, and then adjourn the session.
