According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters, among 1,431 domestic and foreign nationals who entered from China the previous day, 189 short-term foreign visitors underwent COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing at Incheon International Airport, and 3 of them tested positive. The positivity rate was 1.6%.
The positivity rate among short-term foreign visitors from China has maintained an average daily rate of 1% since the last week of January.
The government announced the previous day that it would resume issuing short-term visas for travel to Korea at Chinese diplomatic missions starting from this day. This decision was made 40 days after temporarily suspending the issuance of short-term visas, including tourist visas, on the 2nd of last month.
