[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Volkswagen has resolved the safety triangle defect issue and will resume deliveries of all models starting from the 13th of this month.
On the 10th, Volkswagen announced that it has completed the replacement of the safety triangles included in the delayed new cars with products that meet the performance standard tolerance range. They added that deliveries will gradually resume from the 13th.
Volkswagen had halted deliveries because the reflective performance of the safety triangles installed in the vehicle trunks fell short of safety standards. Most of the models sold domestically equipped with the affected triangles included the Tiguan, Passat, Jetta, Golf, and Arteon.
On the 8th, Volkswagen also initiated a voluntary recall for existing customers using substandard safety triangles. From that day, a free safety triangle replacement campaign has been underway at official service centers nationwide.
