History-filled Gokseong Emotional Story Travel

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-seon] A journey begins in Gokseong, Jeonnam, where the beautiful scenery soothes the mind, the painful history touches the heart, and unique experiences create happy memories.

Gokseong-gun (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) will pilot the 'Gokseong Heart-Throbbing Travel Fam Tour' on the 18th and 26th of this month.

This fam tour combines Gokseong's historical sites with existing experiences and tourist attractions to attract youth and family visitors.

It is developed as a memorable travel course through entertainment, food, historical education, and hands-on experiences, aiming to attract year-round group tourists for extended stays.

The tour consists of humanities and experience courses. The humanities course includes the historic sites of General Yang Dae-bak of Cheonggye, a militia leader during the Imjin War, the Jeonghae Persecution site, one of the 14 Catholic persecutions, and the site of the Korean War, the greatest tragedy in modern history.

The experience course includes visiting the Gokseong Astronomical Observatory where various activities including stargazing are available, riding the rail bike at the Seomjin River Train Village, and making handmade chocolate.

The tour price is designed for groups from 2 to 5 people and includes lunch, experience fees, tour bus fees, and insurance. For a group of 5, the tour is available at a 40% discounted price of 162,000 KRW.

The county plans to analyze and improve any shortcomings through this pilot tour and start selling it as a tourism product from March.

In the long term, Gokseong plans to develop various tourism travel products such as same-day courses and 1-night 2-day courses by combining hidden historical sites, tourism, and humanities within the local areas.
