Gurye-gun Accepting Applications for Talent Development Scholarship Fund

95 Elementary, Middle, and High School Students and 29 University Students Selected as Scholarship Recipients

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun announced that it will select military talent development scholarship students for the first half of 2023 to nurture talents who will lead the local community.

The scholarship applicants must be students under the age of 30 who are currently enrolled and have resided for more than 2 years at the address of either themselves or their guardians in Gurye-gun as of the application date. The application period is until March 3, 2023.

University students should prepare required documents such as a certificate of enrollment and transcript and apply at the town or township office of their address.

Elementary and middle school students are recommended by the superintendent of education, and high school students are recommended by their school principals.

The selected candidates will be announced after the military talent development fund review committee meeting at the end of March. Scholarships will be awarded to 29 university students (2 million KRW each), 45 high school students (1 million KRW each), 30 middle school students (300,000 KRW each), and 20 elementary school students (200,000 KRW each).

Kim Soon-ho, the county governor, said, “We expect that the talent development scholarships supported by the county will alleviate the economic burden on parents and provide students with opportunities to focus on their studies. We will continue to spare no support for students who will become key talents leading our Gurye-gun in the future.”

Meanwhile, in addition to the military talent development scholarship, Gurye-gun supports outstanding students every year by linking scholarships from the Nature Dream Seed Foundation established by the iCOOP cooperative and the Jeollanam-do talent development scholarship.
