Jeonbuk Fire Department, Full Effort to Establish Safety Culture in Multicultural Families

Fire Station-Multicultural Family Center Agreement... Establishing a Collaborative System

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters (Chief Choi Mincheol) is making every effort to establish a safety culture for multicultural families.

Jeonbuk Fire announced on the 8th that, as a new policy for 2024, it will sign mutual business agreements between 13 fire stations and city/county multicultural family centers.

The main contents of the business agreement include ▲support for fire-vulnerable fire facilities (fire extinguishers and standalone smoke detectors) ▲119 Safety Experience Center visit education ▲distribution of foreign language safety textbooks ▲priority selection for participation in fire safety camps, establishing a cooperative system for fire safety support.

Fire station education officers plan to explain the use of fire extinguishers and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in an easy-to-understand manner tailored to foreigners' perspectives, visit multicultural families to install residential fire alarms, and pay closer attention to fire safety management for multicultural families.

Foreign language safety textbooks for multicultural families have been produced in six languages?Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, English, Uzbek, and Filipino?considering communication difficulties due to language barriers.

In particular, they reflect the characteristics of multicultural family members, including industrial safety for foreign workers.

This multicultural family fire safety support project is a fire sector initiative to establish a support system for multicultural families, a major pledge of Jeonbuk Governor Kim Gwan-young.

Kim Sang-gon, Director of the Fire Prevention Division, said, "Through the promotion of the business agreement, we will create an opportunity to further strengthen the safety of multicultural families, who are valuable members of society."
