According to the county on the 8th, the opening ceremony was held with the attendance of County Governor Kang Jongman, Chairman Kang Pilgu, and Yeonggwang Transportation CEO Choi Jutae.
With 33 county buses currently operating on diesel, the county established a plan to introduce electric low-floor buses in February last year to practice '2050 Carbon Neutrality,' investing 700 million KRW (for 2 electric low-floor buses) to build the necessary infrastructure.
The eco-friendly electric low-floor buses have significantly less noise and vibration, feature low entrance heights, and are equipped with ramps, making it convenient for transportation-vulnerable groups to use the buses. It is expected to greatly contribute to enhancing mobility rights for seniors, the disabled, and other vulnerable groups.
A county official stated, "When the currently operating route buses are replaced, they will be switched to electric low-floor buses, and in the future, all county buses will be operated as electric low-floor buses."
